Lesly Zavala’s pronouns are she/her/hers. Lesly graduated from the University of Illinois, Chicago with a double major in Political Science, and Gender Women’s Studies. She minored in history and graduated on the pre-law track. Lesly was a 2020/2021 PoderLatinx Poderosa fellow, where she advocated for Latinx civic engagement. As a Poderosa fellow she joined the We Are Home Campaign and rallied for a pathway to citizenship in Washington D.C. Lesly’s passion for social justice and immigrant rights stems from her experience growing up with undocumented family. On her free time she enjoys making artwork, videos, and playing with her cats. Lesly is fluent in Spanish and looks forward to helping immigrants obtain U.S status.
